Donation of Mattresses to The Institute of Mental Health, Hyderabad

13th Sep, 2025

Gyanpreet Charitable Trust recently helped enhance patient comfort at the Institute of Mental Health in Erragadda, Hyderabad, by donating Semi Fowler hospital bed mattresses for their inpatient ward. As one of India’s oldest and largest psychiatric facilities—originally established in 1895—the institute manages a high volume of admitted patients.

This contribution by Gyanpreet directly addresses the critical need for quality bedding in the hospital’s dedicated male, female, and forensic wards. By providing specialized mattresses designed for adjustable Semi Fowler beds, the trust supports the institute’s mission of delivering compassionate, free-of-cost care to those suffering from severe mental health conditions.

Gyanpreet promotes Suicide Prevention Awareness Campaign

10th Sep, 2025

In a significant step towards fostering mental well-being and saving lives, Gyanpreet conducts an awareness campaign for a critical suicide prevention set to launch on September 10th, coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day.

This underscores a commitment to addressing the growing concerns surrounding mental health challenges and the tragic impact of suicide within the community. The aim is to educate the public, reduce stigma, and provide accessible resources to those in need.

The campaign on September 10th will feature public awareness talks, distribution of informational materials, and a community walk. The focus will be on:

  • Recognizing Warning Signs: Educating the public on how to identify the indicators of suicidal ideation in themselves and others.
  • Encouraging Open Dialogue: Breaking down the stigma associated with mental health struggles and encouraging people to talk about their feelings.
  • Promoting Help-Seeking Behavior: Providing clear pathways and resources for individuals to access professional support. The government runs a free 24×7 helpline – Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States – TeleManas – (Call 14416 or 1800 89 14416).
  • Community Support: Highlighting the role of friends, family, and community members in supporting those at risk.

Gyanpreet urges all community members to participate in the awareness activities on September 10th and to become advocates for mental health. Together, we can create a more informed, compassionate, and resilient society.

Community Comes Together for a Cause: Charity Family Fun Day Raises Funds for Gynapreet

31st May 2025

The recent charity funfair organized in support of Gynapreet Charity, committed to improving the lives of underprivileged children in India, proved to be a heartwarming success. Held on 31 May, 2025 at The Goldsmith Centre in Doncaster, the event brought together families, community members, and local businesses for a day of fun, food, and philanthropy — all with the shared goal of making a difference.
The event, which featured live music, games, food stalls, and raffles, drew an enthusiastic crowd. All proceeds from ticket sales, donations, and vendor contributions were directed to Gynapreet’s ongoing initiatives supporting children’s education and healthcare in underserved regions across India.
“It was incredible to see the community come together,” said Mrs Pratima Mathur, founder member and one of the event coordinators. “We surpassed our fundraising goals, which means more children will have access to quality education, nutritious food, and medical care.”

Gynapreet Charity has been at the forefront of empowering vulnerable children through scholarships, school supplies, health camps, and nutritional programs. The funds raised from the family fun day will go toward expanding these efforts, helping more children break free from the cycle of poverty through education and wellness.

In addition to the financial impact, the event also raised awareness about the challenges many children in India face and the important work being done to address them.

“This isn’t just about money—it’s about hope, being part of this meaningful initiative to bring joy and support to underprivileged children through our charity funfair was a genuine pleasure,” said Dr Nishtha Patel who volunteered spending hours organising and making delicious dosas on the day raising valuable funds. “It was a true honor and privilege to organize the charity funfair in support of such a noble cause. The experience was both humbling and deeply rewarding,” said Dr Shweta Mittal who helped organise, spread the word and was instrumental in collating prizes from local businesses raising hundreds of pounds for the charity.

With such a positive response, Pratima, Nishtha and Shweta are already considering making the charity funfair an annual tradition. The success of this event serves as a powerful reminder of what a united community can achieve when working towards a common goal.
